This year will bring a change in the commemorations of the Battle of Minisink, which John Hathorn commanded. The traditional ceremony at the Battlefield site along the Delaware has been cancelled (see John Conway’s Facebook post here. )
However, the Minisink Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold a simplified (masks, distancing) ceremony as usual on the morning of July 22nd at 11 AM at the Battle Monument in Goshen, directly across the street from the Orange County Historian’s office at 101 Main St. Bring a folding chair if you come.
Here in Warwick, the evening of July 22nd we will have a quiet reading (masks, distancing) of the battle report at the Hathorn gravesite.
